CHURCH CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS: It's time to update the church constitution & bylaws.  We seek to make updates to the wording of the current constitution & bylaws, proposing changes, and will give the rationale behind the changes.  The HLRBC Constitution Committee has made 29 recommendations to our current constitution & bylaws.  These recommendations will be on view each Sunday until August 10 (Blue Room / Josephine Lobby / or during the week by appointment). The 29  recommendations were written as proposals and then voted on and approved by the board of directors.

Additional Special Notice:  The Board of Directors has approved an amendment to Proposal #29.  Viewing of the proposals has been extended this Sunday, September 5, 2021.

Today Sunday, September 5, all registered members of the HLRMBC will have the opportunity to attend a called church meeting, to be held in the sanctuary, immediately after Communion.  Registered members must be present to vote on the 29 proposals and 1 amendment.

TRANSITIONING TO NEW SENIOR LEADERSHIP:   Our beloved pastor of the last 48 years, Rev. Dr. Jim Holley, will retire at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 2021.  In his message to the congregation, Rev. Holley shared with us his prayer that we remain faithful to God as we walk through these coming months of transition that will lead the next man or woman to serve as Senior Pastor.

11 persons were appointed as the Pastoral Transition Committee to serve as the liaison between the congregation and the individual called by God to shepherd His flock.  The members of the Pastoral Transition Committee realize that identifying a new Senior Pastor will require that we understand who we are as a congregation. Therefore, it is important that all members of the Historic Little Rock Baptist Church be engaged in this sacred and holy process.  Please visit our Pastoral Transition page and see our progress so far.

VIRTUAL TOWN HALL:  There will be a Virtual Town Hall Meeting via Zoom on Saturday, September 18, 2021.  During this virtual meeting you will be able to meet our 2 candidates for Senior Pastor.  All registered members will receive an email to this effect.  If you have any questions, please call the church office.

If for some reason you are unsure if you should take the vaccine, talk to your health care provider.   We are now partnering with community agencies to provide vaccines to the elderly and homebound.  Please call the church to make an appointment.

FORGOTTEN HARVEST & GLEANERS FOOD DISTRIBUTION:   Our food distribution program takes place each month on the 2nd & 4th Friday.  We partner with Forgotten Harvest & Gleaner's food bank to distribute food to those in our community in need.  Our next food distribution will be  Friday, 9/24 here at the church. We are in need of "manpower" so we are asking for the brothers to volunteer to help with the distribution!  We thank God that we were able to feed 12K families in 2020 and we look forward to being a blessing again in 2021!
