LIVE" STREAMING SERVICES:  During the time of restricted movement, the Historic Little Rock is now "Live" streaming our Sunday morning worship services (10:00am) and Bible Study on Wednesday @ 7:00pm over YouTube and FaceBook (Historic Little Rock Baptist Church), and right here on our website!  You can subscribe now by searching for Historic Little Rock on Youtube (or follow this link). Once you subscribe you'll be all set to watch the services.


BIBLE STUDY:   Join our Wednesday Bible class at 7:00 pm online via Facebook live (click here to go to the Facebook page).  Bible Study has resumed and you can access it live on Facebook.

DONATE TO OUR BACK TO SCHOOL DRIVE:   Beginning today you can make a donation to our "Back-To-School Drive.  We endeavor to provide backpacks and supplies to the young people so they can have the proper tools to learn.  How can you give?  In person you can give during our time of giving; if you are online, please put "Back-to-School" in the note section of your gifts. DEACONESS & GOOD SAMARITAN MINISTRY MEETING Pastor Colvin will meet with all members of the Deaconess and Good Samaritan ministries immediately after church in the lower level on Sunday, October 8th.  Please make every effort to attend as this is business of importance.


OCTOBER 16 IS PINK FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS On Sunday, October 16th.  Pastor Colvin is inviting every one to wear something pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. 

PREPAREDNESS & PREVENTION CLASSES As the climate of the world changes, we want to be abreast of changes in how to effectively respond in situations.  We are offering free classes to anyone who wants to know and be up to date on how to properly handle situations as they arise.  These professional training courses will be held at the church.  The first session, "Defense Tactics", will be on Saturday, October 22nd from 1pm - 5pm.  The second session, "Verbal Deescalation" will be Sat, October 29th from 11am - 3pm.  The classes are open to all however, we urge members of the Deacons, Deaconess, Good Samaritans, Ministerial Staff, Ushers and Greeters to register.  To register, call or email the church office at 313.872.2900 or   There are limited openings so reserve your spot now!


JOIN THE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION TEAM We are organizing a Prevention and Protection team, who will  ensure the safety and well being of our congregation, members, visitors and grounds.  We want this team to be diverse so those with mental health experience, law enforcement, military, education, medical professionals, youth counsellors, and anyone else who is interested in helping others are welcome. HARVEST FEST FEATURING TRUNK OR TREAT We invite you to to bring  your young people to Harvest Fest 2022 featuring "Trunk or Treat"   Saturday, October 29th from noon until 4pm in the back parking lot.  There will be fun and giveaways in a blessed atmosphere.  If you would like to participate, decorate your car and open your trunk with give aways.  We are accepting candy and monetary donations.  Call the church office for more information. 


HOMECOMING CELEBRATION:   We will have a special homecoming celebration on Sunday, October 30th at 10am.  This will be a reunion for the choir and all former members of the church.  We plan to have family from both in and out of state.  If you would like to volunteer to ensure this day is a success, please see Rev. HLRBC CHURCH SIGN/MONUMENT:  Historic Little Rock is working to get a new state of the art church sign. The pillars flanking the sign will match the stones on the church.  This sign will give us the opportunity to share community information.  There is still opportunity for you to dedicate a memorial stone for a loved one, and or display your family name or business name... all will be etched in history in front of the church.  Visit the Memorial Garden page on this site for more information.  

GRIEF MINISTRY:  Historic Little Rock will sponsor a grief support group via Zoom each Monday from 6:00-8:00pm beginning 9/12/22  - 12/5/22.   Men sessions are available.  Volunteers are needed to facilitate.  To register and obtain more information on our upcoming sessions,   click here  to go to or see Sis. FORGOTTEN HARVEST & GLEANERS FOOD DISTRIBUTION:   Our food distribution program has resumed!  Our next food distribution will be Friday, October 14.  This dissemination takes place each month on the 2nd & 4th Friday.  We partner with Forgotten Harvest & Gleaner's food bank to share food to those in our community in need.   We are in need of "manpower" so we are asking for the brothers to volunteer to help with the distribution!  We thank God that we were able to feed many families in 2021 and we look forward to being a blessing again in 2022!

TRANSITIONING TO NEW SENIOR LEADERSHIP:   Our beloved pastor of the last 48 years, Rev. Dr. Jim Holley, retired at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 2021.  The church and membership has prayerfully selected a new Senior Pastor to shepherd God's flock.  We bow before God and put Him forefront in all that we do.  Click here for more information.

HLRBC RESIDENTIAL HOUSING COMPLEX: The Detroit City Council approved a resolution authorizing Rev. Dr. Jim Holley Senior Citizens Residences to receive $18M in HOME dollars to support the project at 9001 Woodward! The funds will assist in constructing 30 rental units in a new 60 unit residential development that will be 100% affordable. Construction has begun on our new $18M senior residential complex that will be situated across the street from our main building.  We are thankful to the City of Detroit and all that have supported this effort.
